The Hearing Specialists is a locally owned and operated hearing clinic. The owners, Erin Squarey, Doctor of Audiology and Kim McCarthy, Doctor of Audiology have come together to bring you the best in hearing care. Combined Kim and Erin represent almost 20 years of industry experience ranging from hospital work, private practice as well as working for a major hearing aid manufacturer.

Who is an Audiologist?

An Audiologist is the specialist trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of hearing health. Audiologists have at least a graduate degree from an accredited university. They typically have a minimum of seven years of post-secondary education where they receive extensive academic and clinical training in all aspects of hearing health.

Who is a Doctor of Audiology?

Most recently, we have seen the introduction of doctoral level programs. Upon completion of a Masters degree audiologists can receive more extensive training on a number of hearing healthcare topics over the course of 2-3 years.
